Wyze has come out with the Wyze Watch. The new lightweight aluminum smartwatch comes in two sizes 47 millimeters or 44 millimeters. You can add a colored band if you like: you can go from classic brown leather to forest green leather to cerulean blue silicone to plush pink silicone and midnight black silicone. The wrist band price is varies based on the materials. For the leather materials, you’re going to pay an extra $9.99. For the silicone wrist-band, it’s $3.99.

So what is the appeal for the Wyze watch well? For pre-order, the Wyze Watch comes in at $20 USD plus shipping and handling. That’s right. Just $20 for a 1.75-inch screen.

Wyze Watch Features

The Wyze Watch boasts a lightweight aluminum alloy frame. It has Blood Oxygen Monitoring, Fitness tracking, Menstrual Health, Sleep tracking and 9-day battery life. It is Google Fit and Apple Health compatible.

Apart from the sleep monitoring, the Wyze Watch measures your steps. It’s compatible with a whole bunch of apps, such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Gmail, Twitter, and Wyze. The nine days of battery life is based on two scenarios at the 44-millimeter Wyze Watch and comes with a battery capacity of 260 mAh, while the 47mm wearable has a battery capacity of 300 mAh. The usual smartphone now comes with about 3000mAh. The average charging time is 2.5 hours.

And of course, you’ve got all the shortcuts to your Wyze App Features such as your Wyze Cams, Wyze Bulbs, and Scenes. So, you can pretty much manage most of the smart home devices that Wyze has. I wonder about the Wyze Lock in the future. And it comes with a whole bunch of mixing mesh designs much like the Apple watch. Wyze says the Wyze Watch has water resistance up to 2meters, it’s got the IP68 weatherproof rating.

What the Wyze Watch does not have

Some things that the Wyze Watch does not have: It’s not IFTTT, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa compatible. And it only receives messages. It’s not meant to send them. No NFC payments either.

Wyze Watch is here for $20

So for $20, Wyze is definitely trying to provide you a smartwatch, without all the bells and whistles. But you have to think. If the smartwatch with these basic features costs $20, why does it cost so much to have the added features from other brands? Anyhow, Wyze is trying to make their devices affordable. Let’s see if their strategy continues to work out for them.
