MSI Afterburner: Time-Tested GPU Control
MSI Afterburner has been my go-to GPU overclocking, undervolting, and fan management tool for over ten years. The interface is basic yet full of useful features, such as real-time monitoring of fan speeds, temperatures, and clock speeds.
While options such as ASUS GPU Tweak exist, I am too comfortable with Afterburner to move. It’s ad-free, dependable, and one of the first apps I install when setting up a new computer.

Gigabyte SIV: Silent Fan Control Mastery
Gigabyte System Information Viewer (SIV) is all I need to optimize my CPU and system fan curves. While Fan Control has more extensive functionality, I enjoy SIV’s simplicity.
My fans remain quiet and cool, and I don’t see the need to remedy a problem that doesn’t exist. It’s the ideal “set it and forget it” tool for keeping my system cool with minimal noise.

Paint 3D: Unbeatable for Quick Edits
Even though Paint 3D has been discontinued, I continue to use it for quick image scaling, aspect ratio tweaks, and background removal. Alternatives, such as ShareX and classic Paint, lack the precise scaling feature I use regularly.
Paint 3D is still functional on my Windows 10 PC, so it’s an important element of my workflow, especially for annotating images and creating tutorial screenshots.

Brave Browser: Speed and Privacy Combined
After switching from Chrome, Brave Browser became my preferred browser due to its automatic ad-blocking, performance, and privacy improvements. While I periodically use alternatives like Edge, Opera GX, and Vivaldi, I have yet to find a compelling cause to switch.
Brave keeps the finest features of Chromium while eliminating the privacy risks associated with Google’s ecosystem. I’m open to new experiences, but Brave meets all my browsing needs flawlessly.

Google Chrome: For Syncing Across Devices
Despite my preference for Brave, I occasionally switch to Google Chrome for smooth cross-device syncing and a big library of add-ons. Chrome’s versatility and tight integration with Google services make it an ideal backup browser.
Despite its resource-intensive reputation and privacy issues, I can’t deny its usefulness when I need to pick up where I left off on my phone and PC.

VLC Media Player: Plays Everything, Every Time
VLC Media Player has been my go-to media player since it supports every video and audio format I throw. While Windows Media Player and alternatives such as PotPlayer exist, VLC’s low resource utilization, open-source development, and extensive feature set keep me hooked.
It’s the ultimate media solution that never fails, whether I’m watching a 4K video or playing a strange file format.

LibreOffice: Free and Functional Office Suite
LibreOffice has been my go-to office suite for years, providing all I need to produce and edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. While Microsoft Office is the gold standard, the fact that LibreOffice is free and open-source makes it an obvious choice for me.
I receive all the features I need without paying a subscription, and tiny UI variations don’t bother me after years of using it.

Google Drive: Cloud Storage Without Hassles
My preferred cloud storage solution is Google Drive due to its smooth connection with Google services and substantial 15GB of free storage.
While OneDrive and Dropbox are viable alternatives, Drive’s ease of use, backup settings, and ability to sync across devices make it essential to my workflow. Google Drive has me covered when it comes to document backup and collaboration.
7-Zip: Lightweight Yet Powerful File Compression
7-Zip is my preferred compression program because of its simple UI and powerful features. It’s fast, supports various file types, and is completely free.
WinRAR and PeaZip provide more polish, but I’ve never seen a cause to switch from 7-Zip. Its minimal size and ability to handle any compressed file type make it a must-have for all my systems.

Spotify: Seamless Music and Podcast Streaming
Spotify has become my go-to music and podcast streaming service. Its free plan satisfies most of my requirements, and its dedicated Windows client provides a better experience than streaming in a browser.
While Apple Music and YouTube Music are viable options, Spotify’s enormous collection and podcast support keep me returning. Whether working or relaxing, Spotify gives the perfect music to my day.

Malwarebytes: Essential Extra Security
Although Windows Defender offers adequate protection, Malwarebytes is an indispensable backup security solution for me. Its ability to detect and remove viruses that other antivirus applications may overlook is invaluable.
I use the free version for infrequent scans to keep my system secure without affecting performance. Regarding system security, adding another layer of protection is never a bad idea.

Bitwarden: The Password Manager I Trust
Bitwarden is my preferred password manager due to its high level of safety, user-friendly UI, and cost. While LastPass and 1Password are good options, Bitwarden’s free plan has all I need to manage my credentials safely.
With browser extensions and mobile apps that sync seamlessly, I’ve never needed to switch to another password manager.

ClipClip: Clipboard Manager with Flexibility
ClipClip has been an indispensable tool for organizing my clipboard history. It keeps track of several copied objects, which helps me save time when working on multiple projects.
While other clipboard managers exist, ClipClip’s ability to bookmark frequently used snippets and organize folders makes it indispensable in my workflow. I don’t have to worry about losing copied content; thus, it’s one of my favorite productivity tools.

GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program)
GIMP, a free, open-source alternative to Photoshop, provides extensive image editing features such as layer support, plugins, and a variety of tools.
While it is more sophisticated than Paint.NET, its interface and functions have a steeper learning curve, making it suited for people who require professional-level picture editing skills.

ASUS Aura Sync
ASUS’ proprietary RGB software is meant to coordinate and personalize the lighting effects of ASUS-compatible hardware. While it provides various illumination options and adequate control, its operation is restricted to ASUS devices.
Ideal for ASUS ecosystem users, Aura Sync provides seamless RGB management without the need for third-party solutions.
