Does size really matter when it comes to robot vacuums? You might think a bigger vacuum means better cleaning. At first glance, its power and specs don’t even seem close to bigger vacuums. But don’t be too quick to judge, as there are some key reasons why compact vacuums like this can be a better choice.
SwitchBot has made some significant improvements to the previous K10+ bringing this version close to high-end competitors.
Plus, its unique design is what sets it apart from most vacuums in the market.
In this review, we’ll unbox the K10+ Pro, compare it with previous models and we’ll test it to see how it works in a day-to-day environment. Then, I’ll walk you through how you can integrate it to level up your smart home. So, let’s get into and see if this little robot is even worth a purchase.
Unboxing the SwitchBot K10+ Pro – What’s Inside?
SwitchBot K10+ Pro comes with a box with accessories. Once you unbox everything, lift the lid of the base and pull out all extras.
Inside the box, you get:
- Two side sweepers
- Two filters
- 30 disposable mop wipes
- A mop connection piece
- A small cutting tool to remove debris from the roller brush
The Base Station

The base station contains one of the vacuum bags, a compact design used across several SwitchBot robot vacuums.
It’s a great fit for small houses and apartments. On the charging dock, you’ll find:
- Charging pads to keep the 3200mAh battery charged.
- The suction port empties debris into a 4L vacuum bag.
- Noise control settings, to adjust noise for suction.
The Vacuum Itself: Upgraded & Smarter

The K10+ Pro comes with some crucial upgrades over its previous models. It includes a rubberized roller brush that reduces tangles. To navigate itself while cleaning, K10+ Pro uses LiDAR SLAM navigation.
Moreover, it uses a PSD lateral edge sensor for detecting obstacles while it cleans. Lastly, a cliff sensor is used to prevent it from falling.
Suction Power & Cleaning Performance

The K10+ Pro has a maximum suction power of 3,000 Pascals, which might seem lower compared to other premium robot vacuums. It can go as low as 600 Pascals in its quietest mode.
What’s great is that the upgraded roller brush significantly improves its cleaning efficiency. Other noticeable features include:
- Removable storage bin
- Swappable side sweepers
- Overall solid build quality
K10+ vs. K10+ Pro – Does K10+ Pro Stand A Chance?
I’ve previously reviewed the SwitchBot K10+ Pro and even had hands-on experience with the K10+. However, with K10+ Pro, SwitchBot has introduced some unexpected improvements.
Better Corner Cleaning

One of the biggest challenges for a robot vacuum is getting into the corners of your house. K10+ Pro has tackled it with its Position Sensitive Detector (PSD) sensors.
PSD sensors on its side help it to get closer to walls and into tight spaces. Although results aren’t always perfect, it’s impressive to see smaller units achieve a similar effect to premium models.
Here is a quick comparison between SwitchBot K10+ and SwitchBot K10+ Pro.
| Feature | K10+ | K10+ Pro |
| Suction Power | 2500 Pa | 3000 Pa |
| Brush Type | Rubber + Hair | All-Rubber Brush |
| Corner Cleaning | Basic | Improved with PSD Sensor |
| Mopping Ability | Basic Wet Wipes | Same Basic Wet Wipes |
| App & Navigation Upgrades | Standard | Enhanced |
Why Size Matters – The Big Advantages of a Tiny Robot Vacuum
Although, I’ve always been a fan of larger robot vacuums as they come with advanced features and longer battery life.
However, after testing SwitchBot K10+ Pro, I realized how compact designs can be beneficial in certain scenarios.
Why Small Footprints Make a Big Difference?
Shorter Height

One of the biggest advantages of the K10+ Pro is its shorter height. I’ve reviewed powerful units from brands like Narwal Freo Ultra, Roborock, and Ecovacs.
They all had the same problem and they often ended up bumping into the bottom of furniture.
Maneuverability

Apart from height, maneuverability is also a key benefit. One of the most impressive moments for me was watching the K10+ Pro navigate between the stools in my kitchen.
Which larger vacuums simply couldn’t do without me manually moving the stools.
Decent Run-time
Its compact design uses less power while maintaining efficiency. Since it covers less area per pass, it requires less suction, but on a wooden floor, the difference is minimal.
Setting Up the K10+ Pro – A Step-by-Step Guide
Getting started with the SwitchBot K10+ Pro is quick and easy, but there are a few small details to keep in mind.
While placing the charging dock, make sure not to push it too close to the wall as it can slightly pull the plug out.
Other than that, the setup is straightforward and takes just a few minutes:
Step 1: Powering Up
- Plug in the base station and position it in an open area with no obstacles nearby.
- Place the robot vacuum on the dock. It will automatically start charging.
- You’ll hear a confirmation sound indicating that the device is ready.
Step 2: Connecting to the App
- Open the SwitchBot app, tap the “+” button, and select “Add Device.”
- Navigate to “Mini Robot Vacuum K10+” from the list.
- Press and hold the clean button for 5-10 seconds until you hear a voice prompt.
- Next, press and hold both the home and clean buttons at the same time for 3-5 seconds until the vacuum announces “Wi-Fi has been reset.”
- The app will now search for the vacuum and stay close to the device for the best connection.
Step 3: Connecting to Wi-Fi
- Select your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network as 5 GHz is not supported.
- Then, manually enter your Wi-Fi credentials and tap Next to establish the connection.
- The vacuum will briefly create its own temporary Wi-Fi signal, which will help you finalize the setup.
- Once connected you’ll receive confirmation on the SwitchBot app.
Step 4: Final Adjustments
- Make sure the vacuum gets a stable WiFi connection all of the time.
- Ensure that the floor is cleared for optimal mopping.
- Open all the room doors, so the vacuum can map your house accurately.
Step 5: Setting Do Not Disturb (DND) Mode – (Optional)
- You can turn on DND mode which prevents a vacuum from running at night.
- Normally, the default DND time is 10 pm – 8 am, you can adjust it according to your schedule.
Automate Your Cleaning With The K10+ Pro
The SwitchBot K10+ Pro offers a wide range of smart integrations to level up your home automation experience.
However, for the best experience, I recommend using SwitchBot Hub 2 as it supports matter.
Why Use the SwitchBot Hub 2?

Although SwitchBot Hub 2 can work independently over WiFi, adding SwitchBot Hub 2 can unlock Matter.
With Matter support via the SwitchBot Hub 2, you can integrate the K10+ Pro with Apple HomeKit, though current functionality may be limited to basic controls.
What Can You Do Without a Hub?

Even without SwitchBot Hub, you can still integrate K10+ Pro with several other smart home platforms, including:
- Amazon Alexa
- Google Home
- Siri Shortcuts
- Samsung SmartThings
- IFTTT (If This Then That)
What Does Matter Enable?
When you connect SwitchBot K10+ Pro with Matter, it enables local connectivity. Which means you get faster response times and better compatibility across multiple platforms.
This is especially useful if you want to use AppleHomekit, or are planning to use the vacuum for complex home routines.
