Why I Keep Coming Back to Ryobi?

    Ryobi Vacuum.
A first look at Ryobi Vacuum

Personally, I love Ryobi, for the fact that it stands out in the power tool world due to its affordability. This makes it a great option for most homeowners, and weekend warriors.

Brands like Kobalt, Craftsman, and Black & Decker do offer similar options.

Still, Ryobi holds a special place in my heart. Here’s why? Ryobi Tools are lightweight, easy to use, and are optimal for everyday use.

But don’t be fooled, I’ve taken Ryobi tools to some tough job sites, and they’ve held their own next to Milwaukee, Bosch, and DeWalt.

Ryobi has a lineup of 200+ tools, yet it offers unparalleled benefits, including its 18V battery. What fun is that their battery can be used across every tool in their lineup?

Just one battery that powers all from drills to leaf blowers and, of course, this vacuum.

Why I Bought the Ryobi 6-Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum?

I bought this vacuum around a year ago, and I knew the fact that Ryobi excels at power tools.

But was it a great shop vacuum? It was the question I was completely unaware of, still, why did I take this bet?

Well, at that time my dishwasher and garbage disposal had messed up my kitchen, it was water all over the place and I needed something to suck up the liquid mess.

On top of that, I wanted a vacuum that could:

    • Clean my baseboards easily.
    • Reach tight spaces around the couch.
    • I’m used to vacuuming my car without needing a cord.

With these things in mind, I decided to give Ryobi’s vacuum a shot.

    • A flexible hose that has great maneuverability.
    • Two extension wands that can help you reach the ceiling, best for my not-so-tall height.
    • A crevice tool that helps in reaching nooks and crannies.
    • A floor nozzle attachment.
    • 18V power battery that can power all Ryobi tools.
    • Two power settings.

Unboxing it is pretty straightforward, you just have to undo the latches and lift the top.

Putting It to the Test: Does It Actually Work?

Now, is the time to check its field performance. Let’s see how well it works.

    Baseboard Cleaning Test

One of my biggest struggles is cleaning along the baseboard, dirt and debris just cling to it. So I tried Ryobi 6-Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum.

Although it did pick up most of the debris with ease. Still, it left some debris behind, which vacuums generally do.

    Dry Debris Suction Test

Then, I scattered some dust on the floor, just to compare Ryobi’s vacuum performance with a regular vacuum. Ryob sucked entire mess instantly, with it’s impressive power and speed.

    Water Test

Since it’s a dry/wet vacuum, I had to see how well it handles liquid. To test this, I simply poured some dirty water on the ground and let the Ryobi vacuum do its job.

It quickly sucked up the water with no issue, proving it can be a life-saver when facing leaks or spills.

Ryobi 6-Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum: So, Do I Love It or Regret It?

This is a big question to answer. Did the Ryobi wet/dry vacuum live up to my expectations? Of course, I love it!

It has helped me in serious situations, and I can confidently say that it’s one of those tools you don’t think you need until you really need it.
