Supported Devices and Rollout Timeline

OxygenOS 15 beta testing begins on October 30, 2024, for the OnePlus 12 and 12R, with the OnePlus Open and Pad 2 following in November.

By February 2025, the update will include older devices such as the OnePlus 10R and Nord CE 3. The majority of flagship devices will receive stable updates first, with more cheap versions following in early 2025.

Seamless File Sharing with iPhones

OxygenOS 15 introduces OnePlus Share, allowing direct file transfers between OnePlus smartphones and iPhones. Users can easily share photos, documents, and videos by connecting via the O+ Connect app on their iPhones.

This feature allows iPhone users to see real-time progress on Dynamic Island, improving cross-platform interoperability without needing extra apps.

Enhanced AI Photography Tools

OxygenOS 15 enhances photo editing capabilities with AI-powered features such as AI Unblur, AI Detail Boost, and AI glare remover.

These features decrease blur, sharpen details in low-resolution photographs, and eliminate glare, making photo editing more efficient and professional. In addition, Pass Scan may upload a physical boarding pass to Google Wallet with a single tap.

Parallel Processing for Smoother Animations

The new Parallel Processing system in OxygenOS 15 enables faster animations and reduces lag while switching between apps.

This feature allows for smoother transitions, which is especially ideal for multitasking, and provides choices for subtle or parabolic animations based on swipe intensity.

AI-Enhanced Productivity

OxygenOS 15 incorporates AI Notes for productivity, which can transcribe voice recordings, summarize notes, and improve content formality.

With AI Reply incorporated into the Smart Sidebar, users may receive relevant, AI-generated replies in messaging apps, speeding up conversations.

Customizable Lock Screen Depth Effects

OxygenOS 15 includes an innovative lock screen depth effect function that lets users change clock designs, colors, and fonts. The Flux Theme offers users various ready-made presets for more customizable color schemes and designs.

This customization suite makes it simple to design a lock screen that suits your style, enhancing the visual experience with dynamic, iOS-inspired depth effects.

Redesigned Quick Settings and Control Center

The revamped Control Center in OxygenOS 15 simplifies critical controls with a sleeker interface and customizable resizable tiles. The redesigned notification shade separates alerts from quick settings, making it easier to access commonly used functionalities.

This straightforward design promotes efficiency and organization, allowing OxygenOS 15 users to manage notifications, connectivity, and device settings quickly.

Circle to Search and Intelligent Search Features

OxygenOS 15 features Circle to Search, which allows users to search the web using gestures such as circling items on the screen.

Furthermore, Intelligent Search uses on-device AI to locate information across files, settings, and apps while comprehending natural language searches. These capabilities improve the search experience by making file retrieval quick and easy using simple AI-powered commands.

Integrated Theft Detection Feature

OxygenOS 15 includes a theft detection lock that uses AI to identify suspicious device activity and immediately lock the phone if it detects suspicious activity.

The feature operates offline through Find My Device. It offers an extra layer of security to the device, making it more difficult for unauthorized people to gain access if it is lost or stolen.

Refreshing Charging Animation

OxygenOS 15 improves the charging experience with a new shimmering wave animation during Super VOOC rapid charging.

The effect emphasizes real-time charging speed and adds a visual aspect, making charging more dynamic and visually appealing. This feature improves the charging experience by providing relevant input on the charging process.

Enhanced System Performance

OxygenOS 15 offers a rebuilt performance core, which optimizes resources and increases speed. OxygenOS 15 reduces system size by 20%, resulting in faster app launch times and transitions between programs.

This speed improvement debut on the OnePlus 13 flagship demonstrates OxygenOS’ dedication to offering a quick, responsive experience across all supported devices.

Redesigned Icons and Visual Shimmering

OxygenOS 15 introduces updated app icons in Radiance and Shadow themes and shimmering animations for charging and unlocking.

These small impacts make the user interface feel smoother and more engaging. At the same time, the new icon designs are consistent with OxygenOS’s redesigned visual style, improving both aesthetic appeal and general usability.

Improved Split-Screen App Pairing

OxygenOS 15 allows users to combine apps and create quick-access shortcuts on the home screen that launch both apps in split-screen mode.

This split-screen functionality is perfect for multitasking since it allows users to simultaneously access material from two apps, such as browsing while taking notes or watching movies while communicating without switching apps.

Expanded Global Search Capabilities

The Global Search function in OxygenOS 15 allows users to search within files and programs while seeing real-time previews of the results.

This function is useful for discovering specific material within files, images, or documents. It saves time by allowing users to easily search content across numerous files and apps with minimal input.

Simplified Mode of Accessibility

OxygenOS 15’s Simple Mode includes accessibility features for seniors and visually impaired people. It enlarges text and icons on the home screen, enhances sound volume, and streamlines app access, resulting in a user-friendly interface.

This mode improves usability for customers who want larger displays or amplified sound, which aligns with OnePlus’ objective to develop products that cater to diverse needs.
