Govee provided me with a Govee Thermometer/Hygrometer H5075. We are trying it out to see why this Smart Thermometer is one of the best selling devices for measuring Temperature and Humidity. My review or comments are not affected by the device being provided by Govee.

I have a few locations in the home that has cold spots. When the ambient temperature outside the home drops below -10 C (14 Fahrenheit) I can tell that some of the rooms are not holding their temperature as they should. I have talked about this in previous blog articles. Sometimes there are spots where the insulation in the walls is not as intact as they should be. Whether it’s around windows, door seals. This also has an impact on hot days. If you have no insulation, you are also going to get hot spots in the home too. Please note that links provided may support Automate Your Life. Govee Thermometer/Hygrometer H5075 Features

The Govee Thermometer/Hygrometer H5075 is an Indoor Thermometer and Humidity Smart Device. It will take display the exact Temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit. The Relative Humidity is measured in percent. The display is LCD with an unlit background. The display shows you the Max/Min for both Humidity and Temperature and gives you an indication of whether the Humidity is changing significantly (DRY/COMFORT/WET). This is really important for those with dry-nose/bleeding symptoms or those who are using their space to store items such as papers, wine, plants etc.

The Govee H5075 comes with a stand to place on countertops or desks. It also comes with a notch to hang up on walls. The H5075 Thermometer/Hygrometer runs on two AAA batteries. I think the battery life will last some time. The device also runs on Bluetooth to connect to your phone, so it has really good range within the home (approx. 260 ft).

The Govee Home App is also one of the main ways to interact with this device. Once connected to the Govee Home App, you can then see the recorded temperature on a well-scaled chart. You can look at data for the Hour, Day, Week, Month or Year. Just use your finger and thumb to expand or reduce the timescale. You can also just point to a certain data point to find the recorded temperature/humidity at the specific timestamp. It’s really intuitive. If you really need to keep your temperature and humidity data, you can export 2 months’ worth of measurements into a spreadsheet .CSV file.

You can also set up Smart Notification Alerts to notify you if the Temperature or Relative Humidity exceeds your specified range. So, you can use this to alert you to a hot/cold room to be proactive to manage the space you’re in (Garage, Storage, Greenhouse, Wine Cellar).

Govee Thermometer/Hygrometer [H5075] Review

I really like having the Govee H5075 Thermometer/Hygrometer. It’s really accurate. It’s measurement changes instantly as you move it from space to space. It’s always updating on the phone. It comes with a fold-out stand and is really lightweight. The display gives you the information you need to manage temperature and humidity. The numbers are easy to read. The device is really cost-effective. Only $15, compared to other Smart Temperature/Hygrometers on the market. You can carry one with you from room to room (use it as a portable measuring tool), or have a number of them all over the home or space you want to work in. I also really like the idea of having the data stored on the Govee Home App. The information is so easy to access. Setting a range for notifications to your phone is also quite sharp and sends notifications quickly.

If there were anything to not like: It would be that the display does not have backlighting. However, there are not many smart devices on the market that have that functionality (would use too much power). The other thing, which I get is that it does not integrate into Google Home or Amazon Alexa. This is a moot point because of the functionality of the Govee Home App. Otherwise, it would need a hub or more power.

I think I would get a number of these Thermometers/Hygrometers around the house in the future. I can see them in my Garage, Basement, Cold Storage Rooms, Kids Rooms or where your Pets reside. I can see how one would find value for their Wine Cellar, Shed, Aquarium or Greenhouse as well. It’s quite a precise, easy-to-use and cost-effective smart thermometer/humidity sensor. I think these devices would be quite useful to have in your home. You can buy the Govee Thermometer/Hygrometer from our affiliate link.
