I enjoy driving hands free – Look at me mom! hands still on the wheel 🙂. However, I can’t take this for granted; I want to make sure I have access to a reliable navigation tool and music/radio application, and still stay focused on the road.

I’m able to use my dependable car app – The Android Auto.

You can find all the apps that work with Android Auto in the menu: Apps for Android Auto, or in https://www.android.com/auto/

– Waze – GPS, Maps, Traffic Alerta & Live Navigation

Android Auto Features

Music on Android Auto

I have been using the Android Auto platform for my hands free driving. It connects me straight to the Google Assistant. I have access to Google’s essential apps for hands free communication, and I can access my music platform of my choice – which is Google Play Music. I can change the music service to TuneIn if I want to stream radio stations from around the world.

Maps on Android Auto

The opportunity for your map application to communicate traffic and alerts well ahead of destination is priceless. Before using Android Auto, I was using Google Maps – It was developing into a pretty steady app for all my traveling needs.

Android Auto provides you with other navigation options now: I have been using Waze for the past year or so. Waze gives you the opportunity to add alerts such as traffic, police, crashes, and objects on the road to the Waze traffic community to alert others.

Communication on Android Auto

The Android Auto also provides you with Hands free communication as well. Hands free phone calling and messaging is available. The Google Assistant will provide you with the commands required to call your spouse or friend and will clarify which device (home, mobile, work, other).

In the meantime, you can have the Google Assistant read your phone messages. It can read WhatsApp and Messenger apps readily and in order. Google Assistant will ask if you want to respond and dictate your reply.

All things Android Auto and Google

Google made a driving app that is easy to use and continues to improve it’s platform by providing a safe access point to the Google automation platform.

You can access your music, navigation, calendar, phone, messages, weather and Google Home via the Android Auto app. You can also ask your Google Assistant to turn the lights on in the house prior to your arrival via Android Auto. The interface is simple to use and it keeps you focused on the road. I have enjoyed the app for some time, and hope that you can make use of it too.

Thank you for reading. If you have questions about the Android Auto, or would like to talk more about your experience, you can share them in our community page:
