  • Two large paper cones (orange and yellow)

Make The Flame

  • Cut out a large flame shape from the red, orange, and yellow construction paper.
  • Glue the flame shapes together, slightly overlapping each.
  • Glue the flame to the top of the orange paper cone.
  • Glue the orange paper cone to the top of the yellow paper cone.

Make The Handle

  • Cut a long strip of construction paper and fold it in half lengthwise.
  • Glue the folded strip to the bottom of the yellow paper cone.

Materials You’ll Need

  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks. 
  • Five pieces of foam insulation tubing, you can buy them from Home Depot or Lowes. 
  • Kitchen knife and Spray Paint (Primary colors: red, blue, green, black, yellow).
  • Five pieces of twine or fishing line and some paperclips.

  • Cut each foam tube to the desired length for the rings.
  • Use a permanent marker to draw a straight line lengthwise along each tube.
  • Paint them and let them dry completely before moving on. 
  • Cut five equal lengths of twine or fishing line slightly longer than the desired hanging distance of your display.
  • Attach a paperclip or binder clip to one end of each twine or fishing line.
  • Slide each painted tube onto a separate twine, leaving equal spacing between the rings.
  • Adjust the rings on the lines for the desired spacing and interlocking pattern.
