Blitzwolf BW-EY7 Wireless Earbuds Review

The Blitzwolf BW-EY7 Wireless Earbuds add a much-needed bass in the budget earphones market. I was able to get my hands on the Blitzwolf BW-EY7 Dual Dynamic Bluetooth Wireless Earphones. There are a ton of options for wireless headphones out there. Earbuds should have the ability to activate my favorite smart assistant while walking around the house, running errands, or exercising. Of course, the earbuds need to have good audio and calling capabilities. I was able to use the BW-EY7 in a variety of experiences. I’m going to share my thoughts in the Blitzwolf BW-EY7 Wireless Earbuds review.

Here are the scenarios where I used the Blitzwolf BW-EY7 earbuds:

  • Listening to Audio or Music on my PC, Phone, and Echo Show
  • Wearing the BW-EY7 while mowing the lawn and working around the house.
  • Using the BW-EY7 while shopping at Costco or my local grocery store.
  • Making Smart Assistant commands around the house.

My experience with earbuds

Now there is something you should know about my experiences with earbuds. They always, always, fall out. Since the Sony Walkman (remember those) came out, I needed the over-the-head and insert-into-ear-type-headphones to listen to anything. And at that rate, I would also lose the sound to the surrounding environment. So, my experience with mp3 players, Walkmans, and Discmans were not pleasant. But I have always wanted to listen to music and audio with earbuds. I have been using headphones for the most part, and I’ve been satisfied with them, but it would be great to have earbuds that fit and work.

So you can imagine, getting a pair of earbuds or earphones that could work in today’s tech and smart home environment was an exciting proposition.

Blitzwolf BW-EY7 Wireless Earbuds Design

The Blitzwolf BW-EY7 claims itself to be the Wireless Earbuds, Blitzwolf Dual Dynamic Drivers Earphones Bluetooth 5.0 True Wireless Earbuds Instant Pairing 3D Stereo Sweatproof with Built-in Mic & Charging-Case. Phew – that was a lot to take in. So we’ll just the design and features down below:

  • Battery Life: 50 mAh per earbud (4 hours). Charging-case
  • Earbud size: small, medium, large earbud fittings
  • Weight: 5g. Just 5 grams per earbud to place in your ears.
  • Dimensions: 2.76 x 1.3 x 1.4 inches
  • Speakers: Double 6mm Dynamic Drivers
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth V5.0 & 10M Obstacle-free Connection.
  • Charging Case: 16 hrs, Magnetic insert. Automatic Bluetooth reset.
  • Water Resistance: IPX4 Water-Resistant (Sweat).
  • Button Functions: Volume up/down, play/pause, voice assistant, answer/reject call, next/previous call.

The BW-EY7 Wireless earbuds are beautiful, lightweight (5 grams), and well constructed. The 6mm dual drivers are visible at the base of each earbud. The mic hole is placed outside the earbud, facing outwards, which is interesting because that means the mic is facing away from your face. The charging case holds the earbuds well. The magnetic connection helps pull the earbuds into the case while charging. The charging 4-light indicator shows you how much charge the earbuds have.

Blitzwolf BW-EY7 Earbuds Features

BW-EY7 Earbuds Audio

The first thing I noticed as soon as I paired the BW-EY7 Earbuds is the sound. The Blitzwolf BY-EY7 rubber bits fit nicely in your ear, blocking out most of the surrounding sound. Blitzwolf provides three different sizes to help fit into your ear. I started playing ‘No Diggity’ by Blackstreet, then ‘Killing Me Softly’ by The Fugees, and yes, you can hear and feel the Bass. The sound is clear. I can distinguish the channels in the music. The Treble and the Bass sounds awesome. However, there is some emphasis on the Bass. I think these earbuds could compete with some higher-priced earbuds on the market, but I would have to test out some of those first before confirming it. There were some interesting exchanges between the left and right earbuds when the Bass tones were in stereo – slight loss of sound or force of vibration from the drivers, however, not too noticeable. It could be the synchronization from the Bluetooth that causes a slight loss in power. I think you got some nice-sounding earbuds here. The Blitzwolf BW-EY7 earbuds have good audio quality.

BW-EY7 Voice Calling

I have made numerous calls pairing the BW-EY7 earbuds with my Pixel 3a XL phone. I could hear the person on the other end clearly, with no issues in sound. However, each person I called would say that I sounded muffled. So, I tried listening to other people in the household using my phone with the BW-EY7 wireless earbuds (switched phones). I understood what they meant; the mic must be picking up the surrounding environment. The audio was not clear and broke-up every once in a while, even with the phone closeby. You could hear the person on the phone call, but my voice was muffled for the other person. Call audio quality; It’s something the BW-EY7 could improve on. The people on the other side of the phone calls were not impressed.

BW-EY7 Accessing Voice Assistant

Most earbuds still don’t provide a reasonable way to connect to your Voice Assistant. To connect to your Voice Assistant (Siri, Google Assistant, Alexa), you need to press the earbuds multi-function button quickly 3-times. As long as your phone is unlocked and can take the command, the Voice Assistant on your phone will be ready to hear what you have to say. I tried this a few times, and I think there is some interference. I know your Voice Assistant does not always pick up on what you ask it, but it’s not the greatest on the Blitzwolf BW-EY7. It does hear you most of the time, but if you were in a place with slight white-noise or background noise, you might find yourself repeating the command a few times. I think it comes back to the mic being on the outside face of the earbuds, but that’s just me. Having access to a Voice Assistant is a handy feature that should that is not normal for an economically priced set of earbuds. If there is one thing I could change, it would be to activate the Voice Assistant with a separate button or double-clicking the multi-function button. You have to get your fingers to hold on to the earbud to press the multi-function button 3 (three) times.

What I liked about the Blitzwolf BW-EY7 Wireless Earbuds

  • Built for Activity: The Blitzwolf BW-EY7 is well designed and contained in a nice charging case. The BW-EY7 earbuds come with a few rubber fittings to fit most ears. They might fall out with strenuous activity, but I don’t think there is an earbud on the market right now that doesn’t fall out.
  • Audio Quality: The sound on the BW-EY7 impresses me. It has Bass that is clear and bumping. The other tones in the music sound clear. You’re getting a great set of musically inclined earbuds for a low price.
  • Charging Case: Most earbuds charging cases do show you how much charge is left. The magnetic lock when inserting your earbuds is a nice feature. If there is a problem with Bluetooth pairing, you reinsert the buds into the charging case, and they reset or go back into the Bluetooth pairing process automatically.

What I did not like about the Blitzwolf BW-EY7 Wireless Earbuds

  • Phone Audio: The people you are calling may be a little disturbed hearing your muffled voice. It might sound like you’re in the back of a room talking to someone on speakerphone. There are times if you turn or tilt your head, that the person on the call will not hear you. The audio will break up. I think this is something that can be fixed by mic placement.
  • Earbuds Loosening for Big Ears: Ok, I have big ear canals. I have not been able to find earbuds that stay in my ear while running, biking, mowing the lawn, or working on projects around the house. I’m grateful that Blitzwolf provides different ear size-fittings (which I’m sure it will fit most people), but they did loosen after tilting my head a few times. But, it’s not going to get loose for the majority of you.
  • Three Presses for Voice Assistant: I think if you want a device to access your Voice Assistant, you should not have to press it 3 times. Especially a small device with a small button.

Blitzwolf BW-EY7 Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds with Dynamic Drivers

My recommendation: The (USD 35) multi-faceted Bluetooth BW-EY7 Wireless Earbuds designed like most high-priced earbuds on the market. The BW-EY7 Wireless Earbuds are probably going to meet all your Audio needs. Yes, there are some things that I would improve upon, like the mic placement, which makes you sound muffled on voice calls. However, the audio quality when playing music is good. The Bass is clear, and you hear all the tones of the music. The BW-EY7 is well constructed and has some durability. I think the BW-EY7 earbuds major competitor is the Mpow M30 for around the same price. If you’re in the market, I would suggest you try out the Blitzwolf BW-EY7.
