Amazon Climate Pledge
SVP of Devices: Dave Limp begins by talking about Amazon’s Climate Pledge; Amazon’s commitment to be net-zero carbon by 2040. They are currently 5 years ahead of schedule. The new Echo and Fire TV devices will have a low power mode.

The All-New Echo, Echo Dot & Echo Dot with Clock

The new Echo is now spherical globe like, and grey. The Echo is now powered by Amazon’s first-generation AZ1 Neural Edge processor to accelerate learning applications. This will make Alexa more responsive.

Alexa AI: Human Text to Speech
Alexa now has back-learning to understand what the user needs. You ask Alexa a question or send a command, and Alexa will figure out why you need something and when you need something to happen. So you ask Alexa to change the temperature to away mode. Alexa will then ask a clarifying question for the temperature, then she will remember.
Alexa’s teachable AI creates a new ambient home. If Alexa doesn’t get the response right, you can say “Alexa, that’s wrong” and Alexa will automatically correct herself. Alexa will continue to ask questions to create more understanding from her.
Alexa Guard and Alexa Care Hub
Alexa can turn on the lights if she hears the baby crying and you’ve fallen asleep. This will be part of the Alexa Guard plus service. Alexa will be able to detect sounds like glass breaking. You will be able to setup Routines based on what Alexa detects and hears.
Guard Plus will be $4.99 per month.

Ring Car Alarm
Ring Car is an ODB2 reader you can plug into your vehicle to track what’s going on in your vehicle. The Ring Car Alarm monitors impacts, break-ins, tows. Say “Alexa, I’m being pulled over.” Alexa will help monitor the situation with the new Ring Car Cam. It will use LTE technology.
Ring Car Cam will be $199.99

Ring Always Home Cam: Drone Cam
A camera that will follow around the house when something happens. A small drone that will pop up from its base to give you multiple angles and follow where the problem is. The Ring Always Cam will be $249.

Echo Show 10
The new Echo Show 10. It will turn to meet you face to face. It will pivot on its base and turn to your sound. The motion is completely silent. Using the AZ1 neural processors, the Echo Show will figure it all out.

You can use the Echo Show 10 as a remote camera, where you can rotate the screen to follow what’s going on in the home. Alexa Guard will pan across the room.
The Echo Show will have a Zigbee included. I think this in preparation for the Connected Home over IP Project. Ohhh man. Everything is going to be connected.
Netflix on Echo Show
Netflix is now on Echo! Yay!
Fire TV Stick
You will be able to video call using Fire TV. Connect a Logitech USB webcam with the Fire TV Cube to enable two-way video calling on Alexa. Zoom support will be coming soon.
The Fire TV stick will support HDR and Dolby Atmos. Dedicated Volume, power, and mute buttons.
The all new Fire TV stick will be released later in September 2020 for $39.99.
The Fire TV Stick Lite will start shipping soon for $29.99.

Amazon Cloud Gaming: Luna
You can now stream your gaming with Twitch as a side-by-side app as you play your Xbox. This is direct competition with Google Stadia. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. It looks like Luna is more integrated with all the products than Google’s at this point. Luna will be available on iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, and Linux.

Luna + Game channel will have games like Control, Resident Evil 7 and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. Amazon wanted to make sure their games were for the whole family. Amazon partnered with Ubisoft, so players to subscribe to the Luna + channel will have access to Ubisoft games like Assassins Creed Valhalla, and Far Cry 6.

Amazon Devices Event 2020
Amazon came out swinging today. We’ll update more as we get the photos uploaded. Amazon introduced new ways to keep you safe in your home, and car. Alexa has been upgraded with their new AZ1 neural processor to figure out what you need. Alexa will even ask questions to clarify and learn. Alexa Guard will detect and build routines based on a dog barking or baby crying. The new Echo Show 10 pivots to face you as you speak. Did I mention that an in-home drome cam is now a real thing: The Ring Always Home Cam. Echo is now a sphere. Nice looking sphere by the way. Great Job Amazon.
