5 Google Home Music and Video Frequently Asked Questions
I’m answering questions about Google Home, Google Home Mini, and the Google Home Hub that will help you use these smart home products with your music and video services. Each question is indexed below so you can quickly jump to what you’re looking for:
Can My Google Home Play Radio? – Starts at 0:17
Yes! Now this is country dependent, but your Google Home, Google Home Mini, or Google Home Hub can all play radio. Here in Canada we use TuneIn, but you may have iHeartRadio in the US or Australia.
Can My Google Home Play Music? Starts at 2:40
Well yes, but let me show you how to find out what services are available in your country.
Can My Google Home Play iTunes? Can My Google Home Play Apple Music? Can My Google Home Play Amazon Music? Starts at 5:02
The short answer is yes, but only through Bluetooth. You’ll need to connect your phone or tablet to the Google Home and then you’ll be able to play iTunes, Apple Music, and/or Amazon Music (or any music service).
Can My Google Home Hub Play Netflix? Can My Google Home Hub Play Hulu? Can My Google Home Hub Play YouTube? Starts at 6:53
Google Home, Google Home Mini, and Google Home Hub can all start Netflix or YouTube on a cast device like the Google Chromecast. Netflix cannot be started on a Google Home Hub without a bit of a hack using a Samsung device (shown). All other services that have a cast button can be sent to a Google Chromecast. I’ll also show you what services are available for your TV and Video section of the Google Home application.
Can My Google Home Control Sonos? Starts at 11:50
Not only do I show you how to connect Sonos to IFTTT, but I also show you how to set it up with Google Assistant and Google Home.
